About Fitmart

|
The purpose of fitmart is to provide the average human being with the tools and information they need to begin their health and fitness journey. It seems most "miracle" workout videos out there are geared to 25 year old athletes and are beyond the abilities of someone just starting out.
Make no mistake, these hard core tv workouts (p90x / insanity/ etc) are attainable for most people, but you don't start off with them.
Shortly after I turned 40, I was out of shape, bloodwork was awful, and my eating habits were atrocious. It was about that time that my wife and I recieved a phone call with very heart wrenching news. To help fight the depression and get out of the house, we decided to join the local YMCA. There the transformation began.
Since that time, I have raced in mud runs, took up kayaking, and competed in a triathalon. (keep in mind I that have bad knees). Not being a wealthy man, I quickly learned that the YMCA is expensive and it was 40 minutes away to boot. So, I started working out with "home workout" videos. Being the cheapskate I am, I borrowed them from friends and got dumbbells from a second hand store.
I thought to myself, 'how hard can these home work outs be"? Well, now I know. ...They are hard, hard, hard. They will give you a harder workout than you will ever get at the gym. They are also not for beginners.
So, over the years, I took elements I liked out of each of them, dropped the stuff that was dangerous/risky, added things of my own, and put together a new workout for myself. Eventually, I got the bright idea to video tape myself doing them. That way anyone who wants to do a P90X style workout and not pay "Beachbody" prices will be able to do so. (I will post them for free as I am able to record and edit them)
I am putting together this site in hopes of giving some insight to the major workout videos out there for people wanting to begin at-home workouts. I am mostly concerned with helping beginners and and others who are just wanting to start doing something. If you are already a fitness addict, this site is not for you.
Please be advised that I am not a Doctor, not a trainer, not a thereapist, nor anything else. I am average John Doe who has had a lot of life experiences in this area.
Hope you all enjoy this site and God Bless.
PS:: I have the computer technical skills of a brick. So please don't be to shocked if the site or attached videos are screwed up!
